PPFC U11 1 – Highgate Rangers U11 0

The under 11s had a barnstorming match on Saturday in the league against Highgate Rangers. It ended in Priory Park winning 1-0 which took them to third in the table. The team adopted a new formation with John playing centre half and Leonardo playing wing-back. The changes gave the team a more solid look at the back, which led to the team’s first clean sheet.

Most pleasing for me was the way the team closed down and won the ball back. The team seems to be growing in confidence, and the players appear to be coming to terms with both the league and their individual positions. A lot of time and effort has gone into showing the players a pattern of play and knowing what is expected from them in different positions, this seems to be now bearing fruit.

In terms of performances it is very difficult to pick anyone out because everyone played so well, there was Milly’s clean sheet, Harry’s penalty save, Donnito driving the team forward from start to finish and Michael’s last minute scorcher to mention but a few. An outstanding team performance. Well done, keep it up you have now set yourself a standard.
